Support for the “emergency pharmacy of the world” - Hilfe für die „Notfallapotheke der Welt“
The aid organisation action medeor is the first institution to receive emergency financial aid from Wintershall Dea's humanitarian donation - for medical care for people in the war zone in Ukraine and in neighbouring Moldova. "In doing so, we leave the big well-known NGOs to others - we support existing partners and local initiatives," says Michael Sasse, company spokesperson and board member of the Wintershall Dea Foundation.
Action medeor will receive 350,000 euros from the foundation to finance up to four aid transports to a partner hospital in Ternopil (Western Ukraine) with supplies of antibiotics, infusion solutions, medicines for the treatment of burns and for the care of the chronically ill as well as surgical dressing for operations and other medical equipment. In Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe, the money will be used to establish a second aid infrastructure for Ukrainian refugees.
Die Hilfsorganisation action medeor ist die erste Institution, die finanzielle Soforthilfe aus der humanitären Unternehmensspende von Wintershall Dea erhält - für die medizinische Versorgung im Kriegsgebiet in der Ukraine und im Nachbarland Moldawien. „Dabei überlassen wir die großen bekannten NGOs anderen – wir unterstützen bestehende Partner und lokale Initiativen“, erklärt Michael Sasse, Unternehmenssprecher und Vorstand der Wintershall Dea Stiftung.
Action medeor erhält 350.000 Euro von der Stiftung für bis zu vier Hilfstransporte mit Antibiotika, Infusionslösungen, Medikamenten zur Versorgung von Brandwunden und zur Versorgung von chronisch Kranken sowie von Nahtmaterial für Operationen und medizinischem Gerät an ein Partnerkrankenhaus in Ternopil (Westukraine) finanziert werden. Ein Teil der Spende soll für den Aufbau eines zweiten Hilfsstrangs für geflüchtete Ukrainer verwendet werden, die in Moldawien ankommen – einem der ärmsten Länder in Europa.
